A solid foundation starts with accurate digging. Berkshire Construction & Logging excavates for house and garage foundations, full basements, and additions across Hinsdale, MA and the surrounding Berkshire and Hampshire County towns. We dig to the depth and dimensions your plans call for, so your concrete crew can set forms without delays.
Our foundation work covers every stage of the hole: footings and frost walls dug below the frost line, over-dig for working room, and careful handling of excavated soil so the site stays organized. Once the foundation is poured and waterproofed, we handle backfilling and compaction around the walls and install foundation drainage, including perimeter drains and crushed stone, to keep water away from your basement for years to come.
Western Massachusetts soil can be unpredictable, and we're prepared for it. When we hit ledge or large boulders during a dig, we can break and remove the rock on the spot instead of bringing in another contractor. If your project also needs the house site cleared, a building pad prepared, utility trenches dug, or a driveway roughed in, we can handle the whole job with one crew and one schedule.
