A driveway in the Berkshires has to handle spring mud, heavy rain, and plow trucks all winter. Berkshire Construction & Logging builds new driveways and private roads in Hinsdale, MA and nearby towns with the base and drainage they need to hold up season after season.
Every driveway starts with proper road base preparation. We strip topsoil and organics, shape the subgrade, lay and compact gravel in lifts, and crown the surface so water sheds off instead of pooling. Where water crosses the route, we install culverts and roadside ditches to protect the drive from washouts.
Our driveway and road services include:
- New driveway construction for homes, camps, and new building lots
- Gravel driveways and long private roads
- Access roads for building sites, logging, and land use
- Property trail systems for walking, ATVs, and woodland access
- Driveway repair and regrading for rutted, washed-out, or potholed drives
Already have a driveway that's falling apart? We can regrade it, add fresh gravel, and fix the drainage problems that caused the damage in the first place. Need the lot cleared or rock removed along the route first? We handle that too.
